This term our topic is Dinosaurs. After Christmas we found an egg in the classroom. We discussed who thw egg could belong to. We decided that it was a dinosaur egg but we didn't know what type of dinosaur. After a few days the egg hatched to reveal a baby brachiosaurus. We called her Lola and made sure she has enough food and water, some children even went out and collected leaves.
Over the last few weeks we have completed lots of activities, here is a short list.
- painting dinosaurs
- using magnetic letters to spell out dinosaur names
- finding dinosaurs and fossils in the sand
- making our own fossils using clay
- drawing large dinosaur pictures and labelling them
- taking our own dinosaur expression pictures using a camera
- made dinosaur biscuits which we had for snack - yummy.
We have completed so much, have a look through our photos to see how much fun we have had so far.
We have had an action packed first term at school and we would love you to see the fun we have had. Scroll down to see a range of photographs from the first term.
We had a fabulous time dressing as cowboys and cowgirls and enjoyed our line dancing sessions too.
Our topic this term is 'Celebrations'. So to start our topic off we came dressed up in our Halloween costumes. We had vampire blood jelly and pumpkin biscuits for snack. Our role play corner has been turned into a Halloween House where we can make our own potions in a cauldron. We had a great day!
We have a special snack on a Friday to give us the opportunity to try different foods. The snacks we have had so far are:
- baked beans and sausages - cowboy week
- we made our own jam sandwiches - journeys
- tomato soup - fire safety week
- vampire blood jelly and pumpkin biscuits
