Welcome to Year 4
Summer 2013
Medium Term Planning Summer 2013
Dear Parents
Can you believe we are into the final term for this academic year? Once again, I cannot believe where this year has gone. We are looking forward to a busy and fun-packed term 6, where we will be continuing our topic on The Romans. We have already visited the
Next week is also Sports Week in school, where the children will take part in various sporting activities. This week is always full of fun and laughter. Please make sure your child has the correct kit and coloured t-shirt. Let’s hope the weather remains to be warm and sunny. Also during this term, sex and relationships and drugs education is taught to the children. Additional letters have been sent to you regarding the coverage and content of those lessons. Please do come and speak to me if you have any questions or concerns over this curriculum area.
You will know by now that every child has been given a log-in for our new VLE. Please encourage your child to become familiar with this platform, as, on occasions, tasks will be given and homework will be set. This is a safe place for children to use and a good way for them to begin to interact with others on-line.
We are still awaiting news from Molifa, the head teacher from our link school in
PE and games remain to be every Monday and Wednesday. Now the weather is getting warmer, please make sure your child has both indoor and outdoor kit in school.
Best regards
Mrs Adams
Trip to Corinium Museum
To link with our Romans Topic, we visited the Corinium Museum in Cirencester. We had lots of fun, as you can see from our photos below.
Zoolab Visit
On Thursday 7th March we had a visit from Zoolab. We had an exciting time meeting lots of different creatures.
In Year 4, we have been learning about all the different countries in Europe. We used atlases and created our own colour coded key when labelling.
In October we visited the Jungle Parc Adventure Course at Lydiard Park and had loads of fun on the various obstacles, zipwires and rope bridges, as you can see from our photos.
As part of our topic in the Autumn/Winter term we looked at robots and had a go at desigining our own.
