Nov 19th: Help is at hand for dyslexic youngsters

"PEATMOOR Community Primary School's efforts in helping dyslexic pupils has been rewarded.
The school received the Dyslexia Friendly School Award from the British Dyslexia Association this week.
Fiona Thomson, headteacher of the school, said: "What it recognises is the worth Peatmoor attaches to providing proper services to dyslexic pupils in the classroom - how we have adapted the curriculum, provided extra resources and extra staffing."

Many of the Teachers and Teaching Assistants are trained in working with Dyslexic children.
At Peatmoor we run a range of literacy intervention support programmes to enable children to develop their literacy skills. Many of these are IT based.
A multi sensory teaching and learning experience is our primary aim to support all learners, whatever their special needs.
Peatmoor classrooms are multi-sensory classrooms with the technology to support our practice.
