Year 5 PSHE and Global Dimensions
As part of our PSHE and global dimensions work, we looked at where some of our everyday products come from.
We discussed where things such as bananas, coffee, tea, rice, chocolate and orange juice comes from. We were really shocked to discover how far some things travel!
We also found out that some products are exported from the country in which they are grown and sent to another country, before they are eventually brought into this country.
We were surprised at how far away some of the countries were - there were some countries that we had never heard of! So to help us find the different countries we used a world map and an atlas.
As one of our tasks we had to label on our world map where the different products had come from. We did this by using a key and colour coding.
Here you can see us using our atlases to find the different countries and label them on a world map.
