Curriculum
Peatmoor is a vibrant learning community which motivates and challenges its pupils. Our curriculum is designed to have high expectations that meets the needs of all our learners. It also helps our children to develop a spirit of resilience and positive attitudes to learning. Our Eco values encourage learning in the outdoor environment, when possible and the experiences of our pupils are enriched through a broad and balanced curriculum which builds on prior knowledge, skills and understanding. Our children get the opportunity to visit and work with pupils and staff from a variety of different schools and colleges. They also experience first-hand meaningful links with schools in the Gambia. Educational visits and activities, connected to their learning, play a vital part in our curriculum.
Curriculum subjects are tailored to meaningfully link to our topic based approach to learning. We make changes and adapt the curriculum according to the local context and the needs of the pupils when appropriate. Further detail on the content of our curriculum and each subject intent, can be found under the Year Group and subject pages.
